This DVD contains Seitei Iai Katas 1-12 with a section on formal bowing. This video is a study guide for the rank of Shodan - first degree black. These katas vary by school and national iaido associations. The katas are filmed from two angles. There is no voice-over or narration. The sounds you hear are the sounds of the kata. These videos will be of most use to students who already have some basic knowledge of iaido. However, anyone should be able to learn these katas through careful observation and practice. It should be remembered that there is no substitute for a good instructor. It is not possible to truly learn an art by watching videos. Only a teacher can convey the heart and soul of an art.
